Blakney cabin trip July 2013

The boys and I were able to go to our family cabin in northern Colorado for a week of fun with Modee and Pappy, Sheila and the kids, Bonnie, Lester, Mimi, Michael, Kathy, Stevie, Luke and little Eli. It was wonderful to get to spend so much time up there with the family. I have so many childhood memories of playing and exploring those valleys, meadows and hills and I am thrilled that my boys enjoy it as much as I do. We had a large group of cousins up there, but that is what makes that place so special-controlled chaos! We did lots of hiking, rock climbing, fort building, Indian spear grass throwing, and splashing in the creek. Even though we joked about driving 8+ hours from our mountains just to go to more mountains, I will gladly do it again! The rest of this will be a picture story since I am so far behind with this fancy blog stuff. I do love having a record of our adventures and fun times.
The boys loved climbing Mt. Blakney or is it Mt. Blakely, I can't remember.

These four are awesome mountain boys!

Can you spot Elijah at the top of the tree?
Modee's little home on the range.

Kathy and Eli, Sheila and Grace watching the big boys play.

Dylan and Luke solving the worlds problems

Pappy and the big boys getting ready to cook over the campfire.
The boys each had special moments with Mimi.

We had a great day climbing all over these rocks!
Yup, we can find guns, swords, spears and arrows anywhere.

Aunt Bonnie's famous goo and shaving cream projects, entertained all the kids for hours.

Come on Michael, you can get us to the top! The two big boys were so excited to climb all the way and sit on the edge. There are some exposed moves to get to this point and they did great.
Again tons of rocks, this time they chose shirts to carry so they didn't have to hold up their pants.

Dylan had a great afternoon playing in the creek, seeing how many ways he could play with a bucket and napping on the warm deck.

Gold Fever! We had fun trying to pan for gold, even Pappy gave it a try.

Fort building with our favorite Michael. They completed phase 1 and 2, phase 3 is next year.

Dylan still loves piggy back rides on long hikes.

A bit out of order, but we are back to the mountain climbing adventure.

The boys collected so many rocks that they could barely keep their shorts up!

The Blakney cabin crew for 2013. Awesome trip, let's do it again next summer!
