Dylan turns 4!

Montrose has a great skate park. We went down for a R. Carlos Nakai concert and decided to go burn off some energy after the show. It is really fun watching the boys learn new tricks and try things over and over until they figure something out. Unfortunately, the evening ended with Trevor rupturing his Achilles tendon. He will have surgery in a few days and rehabing for months to come.  It was a huge bummer at the end of a really fun weekend.

Dylan decided to have a skate park birthday party. The weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time. Dads and kids were all over the place, I think about 30 people were playing around. We are thinking at our next HOA meeting that we will propose building a skate park in our neighborhood. If we had a big concrete bowl in the middle of our neighborhood, the kids would be contained and entertained for hours! Dylan got a new skateboard for his birthday and he was learning to ride it with Dad. He also received a scooter as a present and it is a favorite for he and Colter. Eli and Colter were waiting for their turn to "drop in". They are still best friends and have fun playing together.
Dylan's buddies Rider, Porter, and Magnus helped him blow out the candles on his cake and everyone helped him open his presents.

Modee and Grace loved watching all the big kids zoom around.  Dylan trying to keep up with Tim going up and down the ramps.

Quinn, Colter and Keaton taking a break with beautiful Bear Creek in the background.
Ah yes, the famous skateboard cake. We think we finally topped the Thomas the Train cake of years ago. Penelope and I stayed up till midnight decorating this one. It was a fun cake to create.

We took Rider's little electric dirt bike out and the boys had a great time riding around. It goes about 10 mph. They are so cute in their little outfits!

Most of the group from the party: Magmus, Keaton, Colter, Dylan, Quinn, Rocky, Porter, Eli, Gideon,Noah.  Not pictured, Rider, Josh, Roman, Evan, Grace.   Dylan woke up on his birthday and said "Mom, am I 4?" Yes. "No, Mom I mean am I 4 RIGHT NOW!" Yes Dylan, 'Ok, let's go have eggs."

Trevor and the boys went to see a motor cross exhibition in Norwood last weekend and they had a great time. For days afterward, Dylan would build little jumps and reenact all of the tricks with his tiny motorcycles. He would call me into his room and put on an entire show full of superman moves and back flips. Colter has been adding tricks to his bike riding skills. Right now Colter is entertaining me with his Lincoln Log creations. He builds these huge elaborate buildings and then destroys them with tornadoes, floods or avalanches, telling me stories about the cabins' history the entire time.

I still can't believe how fast time is passing. I have a 4 year old and an almost 7 yr old! We are having such a fun summer and looking forward to more adventures once Trevor is up and moving again. At some point soon, maybe while sitting in the waiting room at the hospital, I will figure out how to post videos. One thing at a time........
